Memorial Day greetings, fans!

We’ve been busy spreading the word on all things ANTIDOTE. I spent some time blerding out on Bola and Whitney’s podcast, BlerdTalk.

We spent some time talking about ANTIDOTE #1, the creative process, and how we all like anti-heroines in stories. We even spent a little bit of time speaking on some controversial topics like how I fell out of love with Downton Abbey after Matthew’s accident.

Astrid x Blerdcon

This summer, Astrid Comics and Blerdcon will be working together on a Special Blerdcon Collector’s Edition of ANTIDOTE. The people at Astrid and Blerdcon have been long time friends and collaborators. At the 2021 Chocolate City Blerdcon, the Astrid Comics crew will be serving on panels and managing a booth at this year’s Con. We’ll be teasing ANTIDOTE at the Con with a special preview featuring Blerdcon’s iconic figures. The collector’s edition of ANTIDOTE #1 will be special and only a limited number of copies will be printed.

It’s the first article for our first comic!

ANTIDOTE is Astrid Comics first published work. ANTIDOTE follows the life and story of Martinique Danes, a hard charging reporter who works for the global, independent newspaper, Teh Meridian. Marti’s night was already off to an exciting start after running into her old friend, the stubborn and antagonizing, Jennifer Grae. Things take an unexpected turn when she meets the mysterious Mikey at a political fundraiser. Determined in her own right, Marti will have to uncover layers of purpose to get to the bottom of a conspiracy when power, politics, and sex converge.

ANTIDOTE is not only set in Washington, DC, but is a DC comic. Read on to experience DC culture, monuments, and society in a comic format.

ANTIDOTE will be ready for pre-order on July 18, 2021. Available for pickup on August 4, 2021.

Washington, DC is one of the world’s great cities. DC is a small place, and is a melting pot brimming with people of every nationality from every walk of life. It’s a working town where congressional staffers, Internet millionaires, and corner boys regularly share rides on the Metro in a swamp that fits in a 10 mile square.
